Description

“We are truly living in an ageing world.” – Dr Kanwaljit Soin

Since Singapore became independent, life spans have increased by about 25 years but this remarkable feat has not always evoked celebration or innovation. With the rising silver community becoming a national conversation topic in Singapore, this timely lecture places the spotlight on the feminization of ageing, as well as the opportunities and benefits of changing demographics. In her recently published book, Silver Shades of Grey: Memos for Successful Ageing in the 21st Century (2018), Dr Kanwaljit Soin explores the gender inequalities faced by women in their old age, and advocates for gender-sensitive strategies to be adopted by individuals and policy-makers alike, in order to realize inclusive and successful ageing for all.

Join us as Dr Soin shares her rich perspectives on the dividends of longevity and embrace the celebration of old age.
