About the event:

Singapore Family Day is an all-day carnival for overseas Singaporeans and families!

Look forward to a spread of yummy Singaporean delicacies and performances by home-grown musicians and talented young kids from the Singapore International School (Hong Kong). There will also be activities and games to keep the young ones entertained throughout the day.

Minister for Culture, Community and Youth, Ms Grace Fu, will also be joining in the festivities.

Have food, fun and do good by raising funds for Community Chest in Singapore - YES, 100% of all sales proceeds go to charity to help disadvantaged families back at home. Let's show SG that we care too!

Beneficiaries:

As part of the national SG Cares movement, proceeds from Singapore Family Day 2017 will go towards more than 80 social service organisations in Singapore which are supported by Community Chest. Every dollar that you donate goes towards helping someone in need. Thank you for making a difference to the beneficiaries' lives.

Programme Highlights:

- Performances by talented young Singaporeans from the Singapore International School (Hong Kong)

- Performances by Singaporean award-winning singer-songwriter Natalie Hiong (In 2014, she wrote a song for Singapore - "Coming Home", which was the winning piece in the Homesongs Contest!)

- Performances by The Mainworks (a Xinyao performing group)

- Food booths (be tempted by mouth-watering food from our food partners - The Food Global Company, Cedele, City Garden Hotel and Island Pacific Hotel)

- Games & Activities booths for the young & the young-at-heart

- Retail Therapy (and for a good cause!)

- Send a postcard home (the recipient of your postcard will get to redeem a free pack of The Golden Duck Co salted egg yolk chips!)

- Photo booth (what better way to remember a great day out with your family)

- Goodie Bag (good things must share! - each goodie bag will include (a) beauty products sponsored by Alfacloud (b) snacks sponsored by Bee Cheng Hiang (c) a bottle of special oxygen-rich water sponsored by ELO Water, and (d) uniquely Singapore collaterals from OSU!

  • Who can come for Singapore Family Day 2017

Singapore Family Day 2017 is an event that is specially organised for Singaporeans, by Singaporeans. All Singaporeans and their immediate family members are welcomed, regardless of nationality. Immediate family members refer to parents, spouse, children and grandchildren.

  • What can I expect at the Main Plaza?

Wonderful homegrown talent, of course! There will be live music from Singaporean talents - students from Singapore International School (Hong Kong), Ms Natalie Hiong and The Mainworks (a Xinyao performing group).

  • Will there be activities for children?

Definitely! We are a kids-friendly event and we are excited to welcome the little ones on that day. Children and all those young-at-heart can look forward to kampung games that their mamas and papas used to play, art & craft activities, chinese calligraphy challenge & more!

  • Will there be shopping?

Retail therapy? YES, and what's more - you will be shopping for a good cause! The organising team will be bringing up limited edition handmade items from social services organisations in Singapore.

  • Does every dollar from my ticket (minus Eventbrite transaction fees) go to beneficiaries under Community Chest?

Yes, it does! You can be assured that every dollar goes towards Community Chest, which supports more than 80 charities back home in Singapore. Community Chest is the charity organisation adopted by the Singaporean community for Singapore Family Day 2017. Thank you for making a difference!

  • Is my ticket transferable or refundable?

Unfortunately, tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable. Associated transaction fees, if any, will be borne by ticket holders and are non-refundable. All proceeds from ticket sales go to beneficiaries under Community Chest. You can be assured that every dollar goes to charity.

  • How do I get there? Are there parking facilities nearby?

Due to limited parking facilities in the vicinity, we highly recommend that you make your way to the event via public transport or by taxi. For those taking the Metro, take the South Island Line to Wong Chuk Hang Station (Exit B). For those taking taxi, please ask the driver to alight you at the entrance of the Primary School Campus (23 Nam Long Shan Road).

  • Is the venue wheelchair accessible?

Yes, our venue is wheelchair accessible. We can arrange for the wheelchair user to drop-off inside our carpark, however the car must leave after the drop-off due to limited space. You may inform our security at the carpark entrance.
