Singapore Idyll - Lower Peirce Reservoir Ramble

Tour synopsis:

From the Kallang River to the building of the reservoir to the role of the Central Catchment Area, water features prominently in this approximately 2-hour walk. Built by impounding the upper reaches of the Kallang River and commissioned in 1912, the reservoir not only provides a welcome escape for stressed-out city dwellers, the lush forests surrounding it also serve as an important refuge for many rare animal and plant species.

Starting at the dam embankment, we will follow the banks of the reservoir and continue through the wilderness of a mature secondary rainforest along the Lower Peirce Trail. Revel in the serene beauty of the picturesque panorama as we take our stroll along the boardwalks and explore the rich fauna and flora found along the shady trails meandering through the forest.

Walk will be conducted in compliance with the Safe Management Measures published by the Singapore Tourism Board.

Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
