Singapore International Storytelling Festival 2014
1 – 9 September / The Arts House, 1 Old Parliament Lane
The 2014 Singapore International Storytelling Festival (SISF) focuses on the adaptation of stories across various forms and languages. It marks the Bard's 450th anniversary with a performance and masterclass that examines Shakespeare's sources and the translation of his works into the spoken form.
Asian Stories (Performance) & Translation from Print to the Voice (Panel)
5 September / 10.00am – 12.00pm / Chamber, The Arts House
Asian Stories 2014 presents Singapore literary works adapted for the stage. Annaliza Bakri, Cyril Wong, Kamini Ramachandran and Verena Tay will each perform a segment from a piece of Singapore literature which they have adapted for telling.
The pass includes the subsequent panel session where the Asian Stories performers and featured storytellers Michael Harvey and Paola Balbi will share their experiences and provide insight into the translation process.
