How can Sourdough save your life?

About this Event

Susan is a professional home baker with an infinite passion for sourdough breads.

From the beginning of her bread journey her goal has always been clear: to provide good bread to people, especially children.

Having faced many cultural and habitual obstacles she endeavored to create breads that are more palatable to the general Singaporean population, including children. She hopes to break the constant consumption of artificially sweetened and softened breads, to introduce bread that is better for our digestive systems.

To better her understanding of the craft and science of breads she attended numerous master classes helmed by some of the best in the industry, from Chef Wayne Caddy of The School of Artisan Foods, UK, to Didier Rosada of The San Francisco Baking Institute.

During her baking process she discovered many new flavor combinations and textures that slowly but surely, brought around kids and adults, one loaf at a time.

This workshop will cover an introduction and brief history of sourdough, as well as the health benefits of sourdough bread. Includes a tasting session and baking demonstration!
