About the Speakers
Ms. Shaqirah Johari who is a Program Coordinator for the Stroke Services Improvement (SSI) team, Ministry of Health (MOH). Stroke Services improvement (SSI) is a national team appointed by the Ministry of Health in February 2014 to oversee and implement initiatives to improve stroke care. Its efforts include enhancing response and treatment time following a stroke attack, and engaging healthcare providers across the spectrum of the stroke treatment and recovery. It also leads public awareness efforts and develops patient education material.
In 2012, Aanandha Sharurajah suffered a debilitating stroke that rendered his right side paralyzed. Refusing to resign himself to a tragic fate, Aanandha harnessed a forward-looking perspective and began a journey of self-discovery whilst giving his all towards every aspect of his recovery process. Now a stroke advocate, Aanandha shares his story to bring hope to other stroke survivors and provide early education to those at risk. He is a member of the Singapore National Stroke Association, and was a participant at the 13th World Stroke Congress in 2021.
