Event description
Saturday Health Talk on Suicide Prevention by Dr Daryl Tan, Senior Resident Physician, Dept of Psychiatry, Ng Teng Fong Hospital, Singapore.

About this event

Speaker: Dr. Darryl Tan, Psychiatry Dept, Ng Teng Fong General Hospital

Recent media headlines revealed that suicides in Singapore reached 8-year high in pandemic-hit 2020. This is due to difficulties in coping with loneliness, inactivity due to isolation, psychological distress and impaired social and family relationships.

If a loved one is plagued with feelings that life is no longer worth living, know that professional help is always available. Join us to learn how to identify the signs of distress and what can be done to support them in seeking help.

Dr Darryl Tan has been with JurongHealth Campus since 2014. He practises as a Senior Resident Physician in Ng Teng Fong General Hospital and is part of a multi-disciplinary team under the Assessment & Shared Care Team (ASCAT) programme.

Dr Tan obtained his medical degree from the National University of Singapore and his membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 2016. He is also certified in cognitive behavioural therapy.

Dr Tan has worked in the Institute of Mental Health and Singapore General Hospital previously, in areas such as general psychiatry, community psychiatry and consultant liaison psychiatry.

This is part of Saturday Health Talks LIVE organised by Brahm Centre where healthcare professionals and qualified speakers from various fields are invited to conduct free talks followed by Q&A.

You will receive an email upon registration with instructions to access the webinar
