Sunday Luxe Series: Dumplings Festival
About this event
INTRODUCTION
Bak Chang, also known as zong zi, widely enjoyed during Dragon Boat Festival has various versions of its origin. The most popularly known is to commemorate Qu Yuan, a Chinese patriotic minister-poet who drowned himself in the Miluo River on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month. Lumps of rice were dropped into the river so that the fish would not feast on his body.
At-Sunrice GlobalChef Academy celebrates this festival on May 22 with ethnic dumplings available in Singapore – from Bak Chang to Nonya Chang, Thai, Japanese, Korean, Indian and Burmese.
