About this event

SUPPLY CHAIN HACKATHON POWERED BY THE YOUNG SEAKERS

The Young SEAkers, in collaboration with YCH Group, is proud to announce that we will be organising the TYS Industry Immersion Programme, the Supply Chain Hackathon will be an integral part of the Industry Immersion Programme.

It is our pleasure to invite you to sign-up for the YCH Winter Immersion Programme. We believe this is a great opportunity for you to gain exposure to the supply chain industry, interact with subject matter experts, as well as learn from other tertiary students based in Singapore.

Our target audience are tertiary students of ASEAN nationalities based in Singapore throughout the duration of the programme. As part of the shortlisting process, participants would need to choose a problem statement that they wish to explore further throughout the program.

Challenge Statement:

  • How might we encourage fresh graduates to develop logistics skill sets to potentially generate talent pipeline for YCH?
  • How to improve supply chain financing ecosystem in ASEAN-China using technology?
  • How might we reduce the communication barrier between YCH and clients (B2C) with regional operations by reducing the human interactions through an automated system?
  • How might we track YCH’s supply chain carbon footprints to be able to identify areas where there’s room to reduce?
  • Apart from warehouse and supply chain services, how can YCH expand its service offerings to its clients and the ecosystems in ASEAN and China?

They will be grouped in teams of 3-4 with other participants who have chosen the same problem statement. Participants would be working on the idea and refining it as part of the Hackathon segment under the Winter Immersion Programme. As an added incentive to the Hackathon, YCH will be awarding the Management Traineeship Programme to the champion team.

The details of the YCH Winter Immersion Programme are below, where participants can expect training workshops and 1 week job attachment experience with YCH. Teams will work on the Hackathon idea throughout the 3 weeks, and the pitch day will fall on the last week of the Immersion Programme.

Dates of Winter Immersion Programme:

6 December to 24 December 2021

Programme Outline:

Week 1 - Primer on Supply Chain Industry and Bootcamp on the cultural nuances of working in Southeast Asia

Week 2 - Deep Dive into the state-of-the-art technologies in the supply chain secto and job attachment programme
