Bhante Buddharakkhita was born and raised in Uganda, Africa. He first encountered Buddhism in 1990 while in India. In November 2002, he received higher ordination from his Preceptor, the late Sayadaw Silananda, in California. He continued his meditation practice under the guidance of Bhante Henepola Gunaratana for 8 years in West Virginia, United States. Bhante Buddharakkhita is the founder of the Uganda Buddhist Center and has been teaching suttas and meditation in the US, Brazil, Europe, Australia and Asia for more than a decade.

Donations to defray costs of running the course, Bhante’s airtickets and expenses are welcomed.
