About the Session

Yangon Beckons!

Back in 2016, a number of us were concerned about the rising number of graduates who were retrenched. Unfortunately, going forward economic growth is not looking good either, less than 2%. Instead of sitting around complaining about the government, we decided to rally them to explore opportunities in the regional economies.

In March, we made a recce trip to Yangon and met various business people there. They mentioned the lack of talent as one of the key challenges the Myanmar economy is facing.

Encouraged by what we saw in Yangon, we are pleased to update you that a group of us have taken concrete steps to address Myanmar’s talent shortage by leveraging the skills, knowledge & experience of the Professionals in Singapore. The goal is to equip the management staff in one of the fastest growing economies of ASEAN so that they can take it to the next level.

Since March, we have spent the last 3 months putting together a Professional Development Conference 2017 (PDC2017) to be launched in Yangon from Sep 26 to 29. Please check out www.pdc2017.com for details.

We are positioning PDC2017 as a platform for Singapore Professionals to explore the Myanmar market. We believe “hunting as a pack” is more effective than individuals trying to venture on their own.

Session Objective

This session is to share with you the Professional Development Conference that we are organising in Yangon in September and to address any questions you may have. We invite you to participate.

We will also elaborate on the opportunities that can spawn from this initiative. Our plan is to make this an annual affair such that professionals in Myanmar will look forward to professional development courses from Singapore.
If you are conducting workshops in Singapore today, this is an opportunity for you to offer that workshop in Myanmar.

Who Should Attend

Anyone who is ACTA certified and would like to bring your workshop that you are conducting in Singapore to Myanmar.
