TEA TASTER COURSE (Batch 3/2018)
Full day on 20th May 2018, (Sunday), 9.30 am to 5 pm, at $350 | Earns a certificate of attendance Separate fees and schedule if students wishes to participate in the exams to earn a level certificate towards a full qualifications

Remodelled from the 8-sessions' Science and Business of Tea to be launched in Singapore Polytechnics in July/August, and part of the 5-days' Tea Taster Course to be launched in Darjeerling, India in July/August. All three courses are taught by the same trainer.

Have you wondered there can be better tasting teas than your usual tea bags you bought off the supermarket? Have you wondered whether teas would still taste palatable without heavy sweetening and flavouring like what you buy off the kiosk or chain stores?

We have restructured this popular and fun course to enable modular learning without heavy commitment on time. As such, this course is now structured into the three levels of Foundation, Intermediate and Professional, with core and elective modules.


The full certificate for each level will be issued when a student has completed all the core modules and one other elective, and passed the theory and practical examination. Each level has three core modules and two electives. Each module is 3 hours.

Students who pass the exams will have their names entered into an online register on our website.

Course fee is $380. Maximum 6 students and minimum 3 students.

We will be sure we will change your perspective of tea, and you will gain a deep respect for it.

Targetted towards baristas, sommeliers and even the tea connoisseurs in the office or at home, we can change your views on tea.

Course Guide:
This course is conducted in an interactive and fun manner, led by Dave Lim, who is a certified tea master and 3rd prize winner for Tea Masters Cup International 2017 held in China.

Course Outcomes:
This course aims to achieve the following learning outcomes for course participants:
1. To explain the broad history and culture surrounding tea, focusing on China and Japan
2. To understand and apply the science behind tasting and smelling
3. To differentiate by flavour the 6 classes of tea - white, green, yellow, wulong, red and black - and specialty and commercial teas
4. To brew tea using an elegant and simplified tea service at home or in your cafe.



Note:
1. There is no age limit but participants should be tolerant of caffeine and generally of coffee/tea drinking age
