What is freelancing? Who is a freelancer?

What are the pros and cons of freelancing?

Is freelancing sustainable at all?

If you are seriously considering becoming a freelance photographer or are already one, this informative talk organised by the Professional Photographer’s Association (Singapore) and
the Photographic Society of Singapore is not to be missed. Our speakers, Jeremiah Choy, Kevin Ou and panelists will focus on what it means to be a freelancer in the frst place and address the professional, ethical and legal implications that are often overlooked. They will also share their experiences working in the creative industry and knowledge which you can apply towards forging a sustainable practice in today’s dynamic marketplace.

Kevin Ou has shaped his career around his personal mission to create beauty, spread positivity and change in the world through his photography. Often referred to as an entrepreneur with the heart of a philanthropist, Kevin has expanded his title as an image-maker to enter a new phase of his career – using content to expand boundaries and provide creative solutions across varying industries.

Jeremiah Choy is a Creative Director, Producer and Curator. Over the past 30 years, he has initiated many theatre and concert programmes for national institutions. He directed the annual ChildAid concerts (2011 to 2016), curated for Play Den Productions (2009 to 2014). He is the Head (Hospitality and Front of House) for the Singapore International Festival of Arts (2014 to 2017). He is creative director for Spotlight Singapore in Cape Town (2011), Brastislava and rague (2012) and Mexico City (2015); and Sinngapore Day in Sydney (2013), Shanghai (2015), San Francisco (2016). He is an advocate for freelancers in Singapore.
