This is an open-sharing and connection session. While the hosts will provide cultural context on Peranakan pantang larang (taboos) and supernatural beliefs, we strongly encourage guests to share their own family stories, memories, and cultural insights in a relaxed, welcoming environment.

Will this session be scary?

Our focus is on folklore, cultural beliefs, and personal stories—not jump scares. We delve into stories of spirits (hantu) and traditional superstitions to understand their cultural significance. We promise a respectful and intellectually stimulating atmosphere, not a terrifying one!

Your ticket grants you entry to the storytelling session, a curated selection of authentic Nonya Kueh (traditional pastries), and a pot of traditional tea.

Due to Nonya Kueh's traditional ingredients, extensive dietary restrictions are challenging to accommodate. Please specify your dietary concerns during booking. We will attempt to provide alternatives, but full substitution is not guaranteed.

Nonya Kueh refers to a variety of small, colorful, and delicately crafted pastries and desserts unique to Peranakan cuisine. They are typically made from ingredients like glutinous rice, coconut milk, palm sugar (Gula Melaka), and colored with natural extracts like butterfly pea flower.

What is the dress code?

The dress code is Smart Casual. We encourage guests to wear something that honors the vibrant Peranakan aesthetic, such as batik shirts, floral patterns, or a contemporary kebaya, but this is completely optional.

What is your refund/cancellation policy?

Accepted Answer

Tickets are non-refundable but are transferable. If you are unable to attend, you may transfer your ticket to another person. Please notify the organizers at least 24 hours in advance with the new attendee's name and contact information.
