About the Programme/Event

Expressive writing, in particular, journaling, can be masterfully used as a tangible and practical tool for personal growth and wellbeing. Be empowered and understand the science behind the art of written expression. In this series of virtual workshops, participants will explore different aspects of their stories and how they can be told through narrative expressive writing and journaling. Participants will be guided through a blend of interactive activities and writing exercises that facilitates the process of reflection, recollection and mental wellbeing within a safe space.

Note: Participants must select either Workshop Series 1 OR Series 2 and ensure that they are able to attend both sessions on either dates:

  • Workshop Series 1 (2 sessions): 12 & 19 July, 3-5pm
  • Workshop Series 2 (2 sessions): 21 & 26 July, 3-5pm

This programme is specially designed for those aged 50 and above, and organised as part of the Time of Your Life Celebration. Completed works from may be selected to be featured in an exhibition that showcases the art works done by seniors.

Participants whose works are chosen will be contacted by the National Library Board.

About the Speaker

Nicole K. is the founder of non-profit online mental healthcare magazine, The Tapestry Project SG. She also heads the re:story programme which is a four-week workshop series that combines expressive writing with the principles of narrative therapy. Nicole is a WDA-certified trainer who possesses a graduate diploma in Psychology, and is currently pursuing a Masters in Creative Writing.

About the Series

The Time Of Your Life (TOYL) programme series features informative talks, creative workshops, book clubs, and learning communities for those aged 50 and above. Seniors can expect to stay relevant with these programmes that cover a wide range of topics such as health, personal finance, technology, and the arts.
