ARTPODIUM and Art Magnum present an exclusive art exhibition by prominent Indian Masters. The show titled "Timeless Treasures" aims to showcase the vibrant aesthetics and artistic capabilities that emerged as 'New India' as it transitioned from British colonial rule to become an independent modern nation.

These creations happened during and after India's declaration for independence in 1947. As India grappled with its new status of a sovereign nation, these artists started a movement to develop their language – a powerful combination of indigenous history and India's rich cultural heritage.

The works on display comprise of rare paintings, drawings, etchings and sculptures by Jamini Roy from the early 19th century to the founders of the progressive artist group (PAG) - S. H. Raza, F. N. Souza, M. F. Hussain and others who joined later - Ram Kumar, K. G. Subramanium, Akbar Padamsee.

Additionally, on display are several prominent artists: Satish Gujral, K. Laxma Gaud, B. Prabha, Jogen Chowdhury, G.R. Santosh, Lalu Prasad Shaw, Manu Parekh, Sakti Burman and others - Sanjay Bhattacharya, T. Vaikuntam, Suhas Roy, Sunil Das, Seema Kohli, Ramesh Gorjala, Rabin Mandal, Neeraj Goswami, Sudhir Patwardhan, G.R Santosh and Arup Das.

The show has brought together over 50 artworks sourced from private collectors worldwide and some artists themselves. Most of these works have either been published or authenticated by experts and are of known provenance. An illustrated catalogue listing the scholars of Indian art and modern history will accompany the exhibition.

Timeless Treasures is supported by the Indian High Commission in Singapore. We are honoured and grateful to have His Excellency Mr Kumaran Periasamy as our special guest who will make the opening address.
