UP Arthur Guinness Fund Brainstorm Evening: Empowering Single Mothers
Tuesday, November 20, 2012 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM (SGT)
UP Singapore is partnering with the Arthur Guinness Fund (AGF) to focus on the empowerment of marginalised women in Singapore. We will be asking participants to think of ways social enterprise can help single mothers and female ex-offenders get a better foothold in the workplace and society. For more information visit www.upsingapore.com/agf
Ahead of our hackathon weekend in December, we are running two brainstorming evenings. These informal events are for people who’d like to find out more about the issues and discuss with other hackathon attendees. The format for each evening will be a short presentation, followed by brainstorming potential solutions that could be worked on at the hackathon weekend. There will also be time for networking and enjoying the snacks and beer provided by Guinness!
Tuesday 20th November, 7pm – 9pm
Issues faced by single mothers and how social enterprise can help
Including a presentation by Anna Tsang, founder of The Mother and Child Project.
Places are strictly limited.
The event is FREE and includes snacks, alcoholic and soft drinks. Attendance at our events is restricted to over 18s only.
We're at 113 Somerset Road, National Youth Council Academy- the red building next to Triple One and 2 minutes from Somerset MRT.
Part of a global network of 32 HUBs, we are the first HUB in Asia! HUBs worldwide are hosted environments that actively connect Hubbers, help them to collaborate, accelerate their impact, creating a home in which to co-work, attend events, and run events.
