Event description
Get your cameras out and capture the most beautiful moments at Queenstown at sunset with residents Wee Han and Charmaine!

About this event

It’s time to up your photography game with the professionals from Tripeaksimagery! Tag along with Charmaine and Wee Han who will be bringing you to a special spot to capture the most beautiful sunset in Queenstown. As we take our snaps of the sunset with their tips and tricks, be sure to listen to their heartfelt stories of living in the soon-to-be gone Tanglin Halt!

Meet Weehan!

Hello everyone! I am Weehan, founder of Tripeaksimagery and long-time resident of Queenstown. I actually stumbled into filmmaking after not doing very well off as a biotechnology student in polytechnic. Through my studies in filmmaking and subsequent experimentation with photography, I gradually fell in love with the craft.

No matter the style of photography – street, landscape, nature or architectural – a good photograph is always about the light, the context, the subject and the photographer being at the right place and the right time. As much as a photograph freezes a moment in time, the same photograph is ever-changing - felt and interpreted differently by the photographer and the different audiences that encounter it. I think this complexity is what I love most about photography and I hope to share more about my works as we capture the most beautiful sunsets in Queenstown together!

Meet Charmaine!

Hi everyone, I am Charmaine from Tripeaksimagery! Even though Weehan and myself specialize in capturing majestic landscapes and dynamic skylines, a side of me yearns to give voice to those quieter moments in our heartlands. It is those fleeting moments – intangible, transient, taken for granted – that move me the most and they form some of my favourite scenes to photograph in Singapore.

This is why I feel very strongly for Tanglin Halt. For the photographer in me, the estate provides me many of these moments to experience and document. But for Wee Han and myself, it is our first home together and a place of our childhood memories. This marriage between my work, my art and my history cements Queenstown as a special place in my heart. I hope that my love for the place and for photography comes through even more strongly when I share more during the upcoming festival! See you then!

Organiser My Community Festival

Organiser of Urban/Drone Photography @ My Queenstown with Tripeaksimagery

My Community Festival is a ground-up initiative showcasing Singapore’s best kept secrets and community stories through immersive tours, tastings and other cultural and heritage experiences.

4 Things To Know About The Festival

  • It is curated in collaboration with heritage practitioners, business owners, legacy brands as well as a number of religious and cultural institutions.
  • It builds upon the demand for culinary travel, cultural exploration and activity-based travel experiences - evident from the consumption habits of locals and tourists alike.
  • It aims to connect people from all walks of life through the festival platform in the hopes that they may go on to expand their social networks.
  • The festival has taken on an added dimension as a result of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. It serves as a means in which to re-introduce locals back to the island’s ethnic enclaves and to support local, legacy establishments in a triumphant display of resilience as a community. Let’s come together to celebrate the Singaporean spirit after a challenging 2020.
