Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to perform advanced data analysis, collaborate on workbooks with other users, and automate workbook functionality.

You will:

  • Work with multiple worksheets and workbooks.
  • Use Lookup functions and formula auditing
  • Share and protect workbooks.
  • Automate workbook functionality.
  • Create sparklines and map data.


This course is intended for students who are experienced Excel 2016 users and have a desire or need to advance their skills in working with some of the more advanced Excel features. Students will likely need to troubleshoot large, complex workbooks, automate repetitive tasks, engage in collaborative partnerships involving workbook data, construct complex Excel functions, and use those functions to perform rigorous analysis of extensive, complex datasets.


To ensure success, students should have practical, real-world experience creating and analyzing datasets using Excel 2016. To meet these prerequisites, students can take the following Logical Operations courses, or should possess the equivalent skill level:

  • Microsoft® Office Excel® 2016: Part 1
  • Microsoft® Office Excel® 2016: Part 2


Lesson 1: Working with Multiple Worksheets and Workbooks

  • Use 3-D References
  • Consolidate Data

Lesson 2: Using Lookup Functions

  • Using VLOOKUP
  • Using MATCH
  • Using HLOOKUP

Lesson 3: Validating Data

  • Apply Data Validation
  • Edit Data Validation
  • Search for Invalid Data and Formulas with Errors
  • Using Excel tools to work efficiently

Lesson 4: Macro

  • What is a macro
  • Recording a macro
  • Edit macro recording
  • Running a macro from Toolbar

The System Support line with K U Sistem Sdn. Bhd. is where my career path began. For 2 years I have been involved with cabling, installation and configuration of networks, AutoCAD system, both for the company's internal and external customers.

Other employment is with UNIKL– IIM,as a Corporate Trainer. My main job function is to teach and at the same time handlingsupport using my previous experience. As a trainer, I taught various computer subjects such as Application courses, networking; which include troubleshooting, cablingand installation of Computer Network, Math subjects for Pre-Diplomaand other modulesas needed by the Academy.

With experience conducting training for various government and corporate Customers, I have always managed to get a very good feedback from my participants.

Surya's Qualifications:

Obtained American Associate Degree in Computer Science in 1994.Professional Qualifications include Microsoft Office Users Specialist for Word 2010 Expert, Excel 2010 Expert, Microsoft Access 2010 and PowerPoint 2010.
