Women Riders Meet: Riding Solo with Zed CM
Event Information
About this event
Zed does it all the time!
Zed CM ‘Moto Zed’ has been riding her trusty Kawasaki D'Tracker 250 around Thailand and South-East Asia for the past 15 years. Being an introvert who loves nature and motorbikes, she prefers to go off the beaten track, taking lesser known routes in order to capture the beauty of the region. She documents her solo adventures, places of interest, creates route guides including border crossing tips on her social media, youtube and website, “motogirlthailand”.
Meet Zed on Thursday 17th Feb for an exclusive Q&A where we’ll discuss topics as diverse as top tips of motorcycle travel in Thailand, how to fund such an adventure and even caring for one’s mental health!
You will also have the opportunity to connect with fellow women riders and aspiring riders from all over the world :-)
About the speaker:
Zed originally hails from a small town in Scotland but moved around from place to place from a young age. After travelling and living in several countries, she finally settled down in Chiang Mai, Thailand in 2006.
When she arrived in Thailand, her initial mode of transport was a bicycle, but after realising her legs could only take her so far, she decided to buy a 115cc scooter, which she used to tour Northern Thailand, armed with a map. Unfortunately in 2011, she had a serious scooter accident that almost cost her life, and she seriously re-evaluated the safety of her ride. Finally in 2014, she bought her Kawasaki Dtracker 250cc, which has been her trusty bike ever since, even though she also rides several other bikes. Her Dtracker has taken her touring all over Thailand and overland into Laos and Cambodia.
Despite being a solo rider, she has been actively involved in many moto-related projects, including charity rides and being the principal designer for GT.Rider motorcycle maps. She is currently involved in advising for a new project team known as “MotoSplore”, who is creating worldwide motorcycle guides. She is also teaming up with Big Bike Tours Thailand to help them put together the first official all-women motorcycle tour of Northern Thailand.
She will share with us in this intimate event how you can also make your life a ride ;-)
Any donation made through this event will be used to sponsor women's motorcycling training in Malaysia.
