Write Your Memoir Now
Event Information
Description
This introductory workshop is conducted by Melissa De Silva, an award-winning memoirist. The workshop is specially designed for those with no writing experience. Participants will learn why this exciting genre has been soaring in popularity recently. Participants will also explore the difference between memoir, autobiography and journaling; and why everyday people can and should write their own rich life stories.
Writing will be the main focus of this workshop, as participants are led in a series of gentle exercises that tap into their life experiences. Learn the techniques of how to shape your personal milestones into vivid and memorable narratives for the reader.
Participants are invited to bring along two to three photos from any point of their lives for some writing exercises, if they are comfortable doing so.
