About the Programme/Event
People think 'worldbuilding' applies primarily to speculative fiction such as science fiction, fantasy and horror. But almost every piece of fiction - and indeed, quite a lot of non-fiction - requires the author to 'build' a world, to facilitate the reader's understanding of the motivations driving the characters and plot.
We explore the art of worldbuilding in all its glorious forms, from comic books to fantasy novels, anime/manga to sci-fi, with an emphasis on Singapore-based writers.

Jerry HindsPresident of the Association of Comic Artists of Singapore and creator of several local comic books including Get Carter and Supacross. Under Jerry's guidance, ACAS supported local young (and not so young!) comic book creators with workshops, art classes, and publication opportunities.
About Writing the City
We are a literary arts platform in Singapore which supports a community of new, emerging and established prose writers to develop their writing craft. We provide a space for writers in Singapore to share their work, and to give and receive feedback.
Our focus is on writing craft and technique in a Singaporean context. We organise monthly workshops, and with each workshop we explore a specific thread of the writing craft.
