WWF Explains: An UnFINished Business - Shark Trade in Singapore
Event Information
About this Event
Why? Because Singapore still remains one of the key countries that consume shark fin/meat. They are sold in Singapore’s fishing ports and in the supermarkets.
What's the data? 100 million sharks are caught every year (that's 200 every minute!), where tens of millions of them are caught just for their fin. This threatened them with extinction.
Why does it matter? Healthy shark populations are linked to thriving marine ecosystems. Losing sharks means losing a healthy ocean which is essential for the climate for carbon sequestration and for people as a source of food.
In this webinar, we have invited an interesting panel of experts to discuss:
- The shark trade in Singapore
- Debunking myths around shark meat
- Sustainable seafood alternatives (we share healthier seafood choices!)
- Steps we can take to effectively restore the health of the ocean
Bonus: We will be sharing some sustainable seafood recipes/ingredients as well!
After registering, you'll receive a confirmation email with the Zoom link to access the event.
