Xmas Special: Up Hill and Down Dale - Nature Walk at Bukit Timah

Highlights:

• Find out about the ingenious survival strategies animals and plants have developed and what role they play in the rainforest ecosystem.

Tour synopsis:

Once feared for the many tigers that were roaming the forest, the wilderness surrounding the hill has now become a green haven for nature lovers and the adventurous.

Majestic forest giants, some of which hundreds of years old, dominate the scene; their dense canopy provides the mystic twilight that shades the trails criss-crossing the forest floor. A maze of lianas and rattan palms and the incessant sound of the cicadas add to the mystery.

Typical of an ecosystem near the equator, an astonishing diversity of plants and animals can be found in the reserve. Besides background information on rainforests, the walk highlights key plant and animal species along the way.

This 2.5-hour hike will take us all the way up to the highest peak in Singapore. Along the way we will enjoy the splendour of a tropical rainforest and who knows, we might even spot the iconic Flying Lemur, aka Colugo.

Recommended minimum age: 10 years

Please note:

The rugged trails require a reasonable amount of fitness and stamina.

Walk will be conducted in compliance with the Safe Management Measures published by the Singapore Tourism Board.

Minors must be accompanied by an adult.

This event is an outdoor activity subject to the whims of the elements. It may have to be shortened, delayed or aborted for safety reasons in case of inclement weather. No refund will be given in this case.
