Notorious for being a fast-paced, rigorous challenging and highly structured type of yoga that is sure to raise one's heart rate, Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga is such a potent tool to help calm the mind and tune the body when approached with sensitivity and wisdom.
The sound philosophy behind, as well as the method of practice taught in Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, certainly helps one to develop a routine of self-discipline, facilitating a daily yoga and meditation practice.
Through regular and consistent practice of asanas (the physical practice of yoga), we can achieve a deep sense of contentment and inner peace through apparent physical and mental changes as we gain a strong and healthy mind and body.
The Ashtanga Method incorporates deep, even breathing and steady gazing with continuously flowing, prescribed movements (Vinyasa), which promotes increased flexibility, toned and strengthened muscles with improved blood circulation, and to say the least, a profound effect on the steadiness and calmness of the mind.
