About the teachers:

Ashita

Ashita’s first real encounter with yoga was in 2017, at a yoga studio in Canada. After her first class, she was amazed by how calm and energized she could feel at the same time. As an Indian, she found it ironic that it took a journey halfway across the world to discover her passion for yoga. Since then, the curiosity has only cultivated further and led Ashita to complete her yoga teacher training certification in Vinyasa Flow in 2021. She now hopes to share the benefits of the practice that has been instrumental in shaping her life on and off the mat.

Bhav

Growing up in the south of India, Bhavana was first exposed to Yoga during childhood as a wellbeing and mindfulness tool. However as the years rolled by and life got “busy”, she lost the connection to regular practice. It was in 2020, post an episode of illness that she began to embody the benefits of Yoga as a vehicle for movement-based self care and self-inquiry into the body and the mind. This led her to complete a 200-hours Yoga certification program in 2020, and she started running outdoor community sessions in the Beach in 2020, when many of the yoga studios were closed due to the pandemic. Her goal is to make the benefits of yoga accessible to all, and share her knowledge to promote a sense of well-being in the community.

Laura

Laura is a vinyasa & yin yoga teacher since 2017, a gong player since 2019, and completed a prenatal & postpartum yoga certification in 2020. She created the concept of Yoga for a Change for students to practice yoga, while contributing to worthy causes that enhance livelihoods in Singapore & Southeast Asia. You will leave her sessions feeling strong and relaxed.

Wendy

Wendy’s yoga journey started at her work place some years ago. She attended a weekly lunchtime class and was intrigued week after week by the various yoga shapes and movements. She discovered yoga's benefits in promoting body awareness, mental focus and managing aches and pain. Her practice is gentle, with emphasis on body awareness through mobility work and basic yoga movements. She believes that yoga is for everyone and all ages, and seeks to help more people discover the joy and benefits of yoga.

Yun

Yun has been supporting Yoga for a Change since 2021. As a full-time teacher with HOM Yoga, all kinds of movement practices inspire her. Her teachings are mostly alignment-focused and heart-based, with a touch of music. Most recently, her focus and forage into contortion, hand balancing and endurance running have kept her inspired and awake. Yun’s curiosity and hunger for knowledge keeps her on the mat and fuels her desire to learn and evolve every single day.
