Chimichanga was conceptualised in 2016 to be Singapore's first Mexican dive bar. Located at Dunlop Street, the concept was inspired by the cantinas in rural Mexico (a cantina traditionally is a kind of bar frequented by everyday folks for drinking alcohol and hearty affordable food).
Two years later and with over 20,000 tacos sold, Chimichanga was dubbed Mexican soul food by the regulars. Following the mantra of ‘Hearty, Tasty & Affordable’ allowed Chimichanga to create a range of items that kept regulars coming back including the best-selling Beef Burrito Bowl.
