The Glasgow School of Art Singapore

Our studio-based approach to research and teaching brings disciplines together to explore problems in new ways to find new innovative solutions.  The studio creates the environment for inter-disciplinarity, peer learning, critical enquiry, experimentation and prototyping, helping to addressing many of the grand challenges confronting society and contemporary business.

Offering our degrees in partnership with the Singapore Institute of Technology, the first overseas campus of The Glasgow School of Art was established in 2012 on the premises of Temasek Polytechnic, to support Singapore’s ambition towards being the hub for creativity and excellence in Asia. The programmes enable Diploma students from Polytechnics in Singapore to progress from a Diploma to a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree.

Every student studying in Singapore has the opportunity to spend 3 weeks in Scotland at the GSA, working directly with their counterparts in the same programmes based in Glasgow. This extra credit-bearing component provides a chance to see the graduation exhibition, experience the history of Glasgow and the GSA, of the local cultural and industrial context, and location-specific projects drawing on all of these.
