About this Event
Art Therapy is a human service profession that utilizes art media, images, creative art processes and patient/client responses to the created products as reflections of an individual’s development, abilities, personality, interests, concerns and conflicts.
It encourages the person to express emotion and explore their problems using a wide range of art materials, enabling positive change and personal growth. The intention is not a focus on the artistic skills of the client but their engagement in a creative personal process.

Course Outline:
- Provide an overview of Art Therapy
- Understand and appreciate the use of Art in Art Therapy
- Learn how to plan and facilitate therapeutic art sessions
- Know and understand the requirements of Art Therapy as a profession
Please note that this is an Introductory Workshop to Art Therapy. Attending this course will not qualify you to work as an art therapist.
