1.5 Days Intro to Art Therapy

About this Event

Art Therapy is a human service profession that utilizes art media, images, creative art processes and patient/client responses to the created products as reflections of an individual’s development, abilities, personality, interests, concerns and conflicts.

It encourages the person to express emotion and explore their problems using a wide range of art materials, enabling positive change and personal growth. The intention is not a focus on the artistic skills of the client but their engagement in a creative personal process.

Course Outline:

  1. Provide an overview of Art Therapy
  2. Understand and appreciate the use of Art in Art Therapy
  3. Learn how to plan and facilitate therapeutic art sessions
  4. Know and understand the requirements of Art Therapy as a profession

Please note that this is an Introductory Workshop to Art Therapy. Attending this course will not qualify you to work as an art therapist.
