Weekend Culture: The May Edition

Weekend Culture: The May Edition

Swee Lee Clarke QuaySingapore
Friday, May 22  •  6:30 PM - 9 PM
Overview

A live music night celebrating artistry, technique, and cultural roots.

In commemoration of Labour Day, Weekend Culture and Corner Room come together at Swee Lee Clarke Quay for an evening that puts musical craft front and centre. Three acts, three distinct worlds: Wahana Deksu, a full women's Dikir Barat ensemble bringing a culturally rooted tradition into vibrant contemporary form; Shane Low, a live looper who builds full band arrangements in real time, on the spot, right in front of you; and MAX, a producer and soundscape artist performing a full set of original music.

Curated by Corner Room, this is a night about the how as much as the what — the techniques, traditions, and creative decisions that make live music genuinely surprising.

What to Expect

Wahana Deksu – A full women's Dikir Barat ensemble, where heritage tradition meets modern energy.

Shane Low – Live looping in real time, building full arrangements from nothing, right before your eyes.

MAX – Original songs from a producer and soundscape artist with a distinct sonic vision.

An Evening of Creative Connection – A crowd that's here for the music, the craft, and the community.

Free entry, but registration is required. Secure your spot and come ready for a night that does things a little differently.
