About the Speaker
Dr. Benjamin Perkus, Licensed Psychologist
Dr. Benjamin Perkus is a Licensed Psychologist in New York. He received his Bachelors Degree in Philosophy from Binghamton University and his Doctorate in Psychology from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA. He and his wife Elaine have been using Young Living Essential Oils for 14 years and are currently at the rank of Platinum. He has received specialized training in trauma release, energy psychology, and many other mind-body techniques, and he integrates the use of Young Living Essential Oils into his practice. He teaches frequently on issues such as brain health, healing emotional patterns, improving learning and attention, and removing psychological barriers to success. He lives in Binghamton, NY with his wife Elaine and his daughter Eyana Rose.
Topic 1: Optimize Brain Function with Essential Oils
The brain is the most complex organ in the body and one that can be thrown out of balance through poor nutrition, stress, toxins, and a sedentary lifestyle. Topic 2: Essential Oils for Emotional Trauma
Psychologists have long recognized the devastating role trauma can play in emotional development as well as day to day functioning. Early trauma negatively affects personality development and can lead to a host of problems later in life. Adult-age trauma can be equally devastating and difficult to overcome, even with psychotherapy. Fortunately essential oils offer a promising path for creating balance in the wake of trauma, as they can quickly and profoundly affect mental states through their direct action on the limbic system of the brain. We will discuss both "big" and "little" traumas and you will learn ways to incorporate essential oils for healing from trauma in both self-care as well as clinical care settings.
