Camp Structure:

  • 8-Day Camp (Completed within 2 weeks)
  • Virtual Classroom (Zoom Conferencing)
  • Max 1:6 Instructor to Student ratio

Camp Requirements:

  • A working laptop or computer (Recommended system - CPU: Intel Core i3-3210 3.2 GHz / AMD A8-7600 APU 3.1 GHz or equivalent, RAM: 2GB) with a strong internet connection, and a working web camera

Camp Slots:

Step 1: Choose from Camp 1 or Camp 2

Camp 1 - 31 May to 10 June (4 days/week, 1.5 hours/day)

  • Week 1: May 31, June 1, 2, 3 (Mon - Thu)
  • Week 2: June 7, 8, 9, 10 (Mon - Thu)

Camp 2 - 14 June to 24 June (4 days/week, 1.5 hours/day)

  • Week 1: June 14, 15, 16, 17 (Mon - Thu)
  • Week 2: June 21, 22, 23, 24 (Mon - Thu)

    B) 11AM - 12.30PM

    C) 1.30PM - 3PM

Here's what your child will experience at the 8-day camp....

  • Experience what programming is, and how it is used professionally to solve problems and create solutions.
  • Encourage your child to want to learn how things work and develop a creator mindset.
  • Learn Coding Concepts using the popular Python Programming language.
  • Learn about commonly used programming concepts and how to create amazing programs
  • Learn specially curated algorithms** and code mini-games and applications
  • Learn about programming tools and how to use Programming IDEs
  • Each lesson will have 1 or more programs and challenges for students to complete.

** Technical Topics include sequences, string and integer variables, loops, nested loops, booleans, if-then-else conditions, nested if-then else conditions, operators and more.

Our camp is supplemented with our proprietary student web portal where students can access coding notes, class recordings, homework assignments, and also serves as a safe place for students to discuss/connect with their peers and instructors.

Camp Outline:

Day 1 & 2: Introduction to Python and Code Syntax

  • Learn about the Python Online Coding Platform
  • Learn about Turtle Graphics and Variables
  • Learn about Code Sequences and Loops.

Day 3 & 4: Conditional Logic

  • Learning about Conditions and If-Then-Else
  • Make decisions in code using conditions.
  • Using both Conditions and Loops for projects.

Day 5 & 6: Input() and Variable Types

  • Learning about String, Integer and Boolean Variable Types
  • Variable properties and to convert variables
  • Using data variables in calculations and projects.

Day 7 & 8: Coding Mini-Programs

  • Program Challenges and coding mini-programs
  • Brainstorming Techniques
  • Learn to plan, design and code a final project.

Qn: What do I need to prepare for this camp?

Ans: For online classes, please make sure that your child has a working computer or laptop (Recommended system - CPU: Intel Core i3-3210 3.2 GHz / AMD A8-7600 APU 3.1 GHz or equivalent, RAM: 2GB), with a strong internet connection, and a working web camera.

Qn: How will the virtual classes be held?

Ans: Virtual classes will be held through Zoom conferencing, and supplemented with our proprietary student web portal where students can access coding notes, class recordings, homework assignments, and also serves as a safe place for students to discuss/connect with their peers and instructors.

At our virtual classes, the code mentors have the option of remoting into the students laptop to help them if they encounter any issues or need any help and also to ensure they are following well!

Qn: Does my child need to download any software for this camp?

Ans: No, your child does not need to download any software for this camp. Students will be using the Repli.it platform (https://repl.it/) where they can write their programs and code in Python.

Qn: How many students are there in a class?

Ans: We maintain a small classroom size of maximum 6 students:1 instructor for the best learning experience for your child.

Qn: Does my child need to attend the same timeslot for each day?

Ans: Yes, students will attend the same time slot for every day of the 8-day camp.

Qn: Will there be any make up classes provided if my child miss a class?

Ans: We do not provide make up sessions , however, we do provide the class recordings and materials for any missed classes.

Qn: Do you provide a certificate upon completion of this course?

Ans: Yes, we provide every student with a digital certificate of completion at the end of the camp.

Qn: My child does not fit within the recommended age range, do you have courses for younger/older kids?

Ans: Yes, we do offer the ScratchThinker 8-Day Coding Camp for kids aged 7 to 12 or the Minecraft CodeThinker 4-Day Coding Camp for kids aged 8 to 12.

Qn: My child has attended the camp and is interested to continue his or her learning, what are the courses available?

Ans: We have many students who started learning programming in the holiday camps and choose to continue their learning with us in our weekly classes. We offer a structured progressive curriculum that focuses on long-term practical programming skills for ages 7 through 16.
