This 3-Day Mindfulnes Retreat will comprise a intensive program for individuals to learn and apply mindfulness in a short duration. The teachings will. be based on Oxford's Dr Mark William's Finding Peace in A Frantic World curriculum.

This retreat also offers you the opportunity to step away from the responsibilities to give yourself a much needed break, for self-reflection and emotional healing.

Set in a natural setting of sand and waves, this retreat is designed for those seeking rest, clarity, and reconnection with themselves.

This intentional one day of silence is about creating space: space to hear oneself more clearly, to observe mental patterns without judgment, and to rest deeply in the present moment.

Each day's lessons include:

  • Guided sitting and walking mindfulness practices
  • Gentle stretches and movement
  • Personal reflection and time closer to nature

HOW do I get there & back?

  • You are responsible for your transportation to and from the Bintan Island via Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal. To arrive by 10am on Day 1 and to leave Bintan on the last ferry on last day of the retreat. Please book your ferry tickets with Bintan Resort Ferries by accessing the followoing link: http://www.brf.com.sg

Getting there:

You will be departing from Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal.

We recommend to book yourself on the 8am or 9am (Singapore time) ferry. This will allow you sufficient time to be ready when the retreat begins at 11am.

Upon arriving at Bintan, you will be transferred to the hotel in a FREE shuttle service provided by the hotel - a 15 min ride.

Getting back to Singapore:

Please book your ticket onboard the 6.30pm (Bintan time) ferry on the 29th of June.

The hotel's FREE shuttle will bring you to the ferry terminal on the day of your departure

You will be arriving at Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal in Singapore.Do consider booking your pick-up in advance to avoid long waiting times.

Travel Insurance

Please purchase your personal travel insurance for the duration of your stay so that you can be repatriated to Singapore should there be an unlikely emergency.

RETREAT LEADERS

Adj. A/Prof Angie Chew is the Founder and CEO of Brahm Centre, a charity with over 50 staff, dedicated to promoting healthier and happier living. In recognition of her contributions in the mental health space, she was named “The Straits Times Singaporean of the Year 2019”.

She is the first certified Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction teacher in Singapore conferred by the Mindfulness Center at Brown University School of Public Health, in collaboration with UMASS Memorial Health Care’s Center for Mindfulness. Angie is also a certified Dot-b and Paws-b Mindfulness teacher from the Mindfulness in Schools Project (UK). In addition, she is a certified Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy Course teacher, trained by Oxford University Mindfulness Centre.

She also teaches a mindfulness-based course at the National University of Singapore and is on the advisory board of Monash Centre for Consciousness and Contemplative Studies.

She has conducted mindfulness courses, workshops and retreats to more than 15,000 people across all ages. Her corporate clients extend across various industry sectors from healthcare (Ministry of Health, National Health Group, SingHealth, Institute of Mental Health, Agency for Integrated Care, Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Community Psychology Hub), education institutions (Ministry of Education, Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, Hwa Chong Institution, Raffles Institution, NUS High School, St Joseph Institution, Nanyang Girls’ High School, St Anthony's Canossian Secondary) to finance (DBS, OCBC, Bank of Singapore and Goldman Sachs), and legal (Rajah @ Tann) to name a few.

May Chng was a former school vice-principal and a Ministry of Education educator for over 20 years. She is currently Brahm Centre’s Mindfulness Practice Manager. May has experienced the benefits of mindfulness first-hand in her healing from a family tragedy, which fuels her commitment to sharing mindfulness knowledge, practices and attitudes with participants.

May is a Dot-b certified teacher from the Mindfulness in Schools Project (UK) and a trained Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy for Life teacher by Oxford Mindfulness Foundation. She has a Master of Arts (Instructional Design and Technology) and also holds a Diploma in Counselling Psychology.
