Embark on an adrenaline-fueled journey with World Vision's annual youth event, 30-Hour Famine Camp! This year, brace yourself for an epic choose-your-own-adventure challenge that transports you into the heart of hunger-stricken lands ravaged by conflict and climate.

Are you ready to make a difference? Sign up solo (we will team you up with 4 youth) or with a dynamic team!

The 30-Hour Famine Experience:

  • Feel real hunger pains as you fast for 30 hours, gaining insight into the struggles of millions of children worldwide.
  • Gear up for an obstacle course that will test your limits and unlock the mysteries and untold stories of those in need as you navigate through an escape game, piecing together clues to gain freedom from hunger.
  • The adventure doesn't stop there! Rally with fellow youth advocates, exchange ideas, share experiences, and ignite change. Immerse yourself in eye-opening discussions led by World Vision's humanitarian practitioners, arming yourself with knowledge and ways to help combat the Global Hunger Crisis.

All registration fees will go towards supporting World Vision's Global Hunger Response, which will support children, families and communities struck by conflict in Myanmar, as well as those in Africa, especially in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and Ethiopia, who are facing the looming threat of famine. These funds will be used to provide school lunches for hungry students, emergency meals for children and families displaced by conflict, as well as nutrition screening and lifesaving medication for malnourished children.

Tell me more about the 30 Hour Famine.

30 Hour Famine is a youth event organised annually by World Vision in Singapore. Various editions of this event are held across the world in countries where World Vision works every year, collectively forming an international movement for youth to take a stand together against hunger and poverty.

Who can join the event?

Anyone aged 13-30 years old is welcome to register! For those outside of this age range who are interested, do contact us at youth@worldvision.org.sg.

Is there a physical camp this year?

No, it will be a two-day in-person event.

I am unable to join the camp in person. Will I be able to complete the camp virtually?

No, there will not be any online challenges this year.

Do I need to fast from solid food for 30 hours this year?

Yes! Through the experience of fasting, we hope that participants will gain a deeper appreciation of the struggles that vulnerable children and families face when they go without food for much longer periods of time.

I am unable to fast this year. Will there be food available at the event?

In line with the theme on 30 Hour Famine, food will not be provided during the event. Drinking water will be available.

Will the missions be team missions or individual missions?

30 Hour Famine: Hunger Trials will consist entirely of team challenges! You are highly encouraged to sign up in teams of up to 5 with your friends. For individuals, we will do our best to place you in a team comprising members of a similar age group as you.

Can I ask for a refund if I cannot join the 30 Hour Famine anymore?

All registration fees are non-refundable, but you do have the option of identifying another person to participate in your place.

Will I receive anything after completing the 30 Hour Famine?

If you complete the 30 Hour Famine successfully, you can request for an e-certificate via e-mail after the event has ended!

Will the on-site event carry on if the COVID-19 situation changes?

We will be monitoring the COVID-19 situation to ensure a safe 30 Hour Famine experience for all participants! Do follow our Instagram account @worldvisionyouthsg and look out for any updates!
