About this event

30 Hour Famine 2025: The Walk to Freedom

One weekend. Real stories. Big purpose. Are you ready to take on a challenge that will change the way you see the world—and yourself?

This year’s theme, “The Walk to Freedom,” spotlights what life is like for millions of children and their families who have been forced to leave their homes due to conflict.

Camp Highlights

Famine Challenge: Put your endurance to the test. With little food, experience the impact of hunger firsthand.

Squad Goals:  Team up and put your survival skills to the test. Build a shelter from scratch, take the "Water Walk", and dive into mass activities where teams compete and collaborate in real-time challenges.

Unforgettable Experiences: Hear behind-the-scenes stories from World Vision humanitarian practitioners, enjoy live song performances by local artists, get hands-on and add your spark onto our collaborative installation, & receive exclusive camp merchandise.

Frequently asked questions

What activities can I expect?

You may expect a series of team-based indoor and outdoor activities and mass games involving all participants. In our opening and closing ceremonies, you may expect inspiring speeches from experienced humanitarian staff and song performances by local artists.

Is there an overnight stay?

No, this is a 2-day event with no overnight stay. Participants will be dismissed at 5pm.

Who can join the event?

Youths aged 13 to 30 are welcomed to register!

Can I volunteer as a group facilitator?

For youths 17 & older, you may volunteer as a group facilitator to hone and challenge your leadership skills! A brief selection and training process is required for this role. Otherwise, you may always join as a participant!

What is in my Famine Pack?

On the first day of the event, participants will receive a Famine pack containing two 30 Hour Famine t-shirts to be worn, exclusive merchandise, and more.

Will food be provided?

In line with a Famine where little to no food is available, only minimal snacks will be provided. Through the shared experience of hunger, participants will gain a first-hand appreciation of the struggles vulnerable children face when they go without food for much longer than 30 hours.

Will I receive anything after completing the 30 Hour Famine?

If you complete the 30 Hour Famine successfully, you can request for an e-certificate via e-mail after the event has ended!

What should I bring?

Fret not! A follow up email with details such as packing lists, attire, registration location and time will be sent to participants 2 weeks before the event.

I have other questions. Where can I go to find answers?

You may email further questions to youth@worldvision.org.sg
