41st Singapore Bird Race (2025)

Held annually since 1984, the Singapore Bird Race, organised by Nature Society Singapore, is one of the longest-running citizen science events in Southeast Asia. Through this race, we aim to promote the appreciation, awareness, and conservation of wild birds in Singapore, as well as to raise awareness about local biodiversity among the general public.

The Singapore Bird Race has also served as a valuable source of scientific knowledge regarding the distribution and conservation status of endangered bird species in the country. The data collected during this annual race has been used in guiding national conservation assessments and initiatives.

The Singapore Bird Race has been generously supported by our main sponsor, Mapletree Investments, since 2019. The 41st Singapore Bird Race (2025) is organised in partnership with BirdLife International Asia and supported by National Parks Board.

Race Categories & Details

Build your own teams and select from one of the following race categories. We welcome participants of all backgrounds, from beginners to experts!

1) Marathon (24 hours long) - For extreme birdwatchers

• 15 Nov (Sat), 12.30 pm -16 Nov (Sun), 12.30 pm
• 3 - 4 members per team

2) Sprint (5 hours long) - For advanced birdwatchers

• 16 Nov (Sun), 7.30 am - 12:30 pm
• 3 - 4 members per team

3) Novice (5 hours long) - For novice birdwatchers (2 or less years of birdwatching experience)

• 16 Nov (Sun), 7.30 am - 12.30 pm
• 3 - 4 members per team

4) Family (5 hours long) - At least 1 parent and 1 child of 12 years old or below

• 16 Nov (Sun), 7.30 am - 12.30 pm
• 2 - 4 members per team; At least 1 parent and 1 child of 12 years old or below

5) Photographer (4.5 hours long)

• 16 Nov (Sun), 07.30 am - 12.00 pm
• 2 members per team

6) Youth (4.5 hours long) - For 13 - 18 years old

• 16 Nov (Sun), 8.00 am - 12:30 pm
• 3 - 4 members per team

7) School (Primary) (2 hours long) - For primary schoolers; To be accompanied by 1 teacher

• 16 Nov (Sun), 8.00 am - 10.00 am
• 3 - 4 members per team; To be accompanied by a teacher

Registration is open from now to 05 Oct 2025 (Sun)! Early Bird Benefit – First come, first served, while spots last: Register before17 Sep 2025 (Wed) for an exclusive opportunity to join a guided birdwatching session at Gardens by the Bay.

• Per Adult NSS Member: SGD 15
• Per Adult Non-NSS Member: SGD 20
• Per Primary Schooler/Youth (18 years old and below): Free - Registration is still required

1) Please register as a team by purchasing your team's tickets in one transaction.

• Every team member has to be registered/have a ticket.
• For each ticket, please fill in all the following required details of each team member.

Terms & Conditions

This event, including any pre- or post-event activities, may be covered by photography and/or videography. We may use these photographs, sound recordings, and/or videos for promotional purposes.

By registering for this event, you agree to abide by the following terms and conditions:
