Training in self-care & resilience with a focus on educators, parents, counsellors & trainers on sharing, guiding and teaching mindfulness

About this Event

To share, guide or teach mindfulness requires embodiment of the mindfulness foundational attitudes.

Starting today . . increase your awareness of how you conduct your speech and actions, how you are also perceived by your friends, students, colleagues and family members.

This course will cover the following topics:

  1. The Science, Practice and Philosophy of Mindfulness
  2. A Kinder Way of Life
  3. Engaging the Student /Child and Making Mindfulness Relevant
  4. Mindfulness Meditation - Practicing and Leading it
  5. The Big Four Cognitive Practices
  6. Understanding The Emotions of Self-Destruction
  7. Co-arising of Thoughts, Emotions, Feelings and Impulses
  8. Developing and Delivering Mindfulness Courses

You will be traversing a range of formal and informal mindfulness practices including sitting, walking, standing, lying down and guided movements, dialogue and inquiry.  Observing silence will be required on some of the days as part of the curriculum.

You must have attended at least one of the following courses:

Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction

Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy Course

Mindfulness Foundation Course (& Mindfulness Intermediate Course is preferred)

Mindfulness for Enhanced Performance

Course Fee: $770

PROGRAM

6 Dec

  • 1:30pm Registration
  • 2pm - 6pm Opening Session

7 - 10 Dec

  • 9am - 12pm Morning session
  • 12pm - 1pm Lunch Break
  • 1pm - 6pm Afternoon session (with breaks in between)

Each session will comprise guidance, mindfulness practices, Q&A  

Retreat Leaders: Dr Craig Hassed, Monash University and Adj. A/Prof Angie Chew, National University of Singapore & Mindfulness Principal at Brahm Centre

On-Site COVID-19 Precautions: Daily temperature checks, 1m social distancing, face masks to be at all times in the ballroom, group size limit: 50

Meals: Box lunches will be provided for mindful eating

What to Bring: Yoga mat, water bottle, shawl or jacket in case you feel cold in the ballroom. Wear comfortable clothing
