SIFA-X: there is no future in nostalgia

How do we reckon with this country's propensity to forget? Centre 42 grapples with these questions & more through deep cuts from the theatre archive, a series of new plays responding to the uses & abuses of nostalgia, and a jam on headlines from the 90s.

Come enjoy a fun and informal evening of dramatised readings featuring new short works by writers who responded to headlines from the year 1993! For this special SIFA edition of Headline Acts, part of Centre 42's group show SIFA-X: there is no future in nostalgia, we are turning our attention to that special dynamic between new and old, past and future. There are two sessions of Headline Acts with a diverse platter of plays served:Acts 1 feature the works of Jean Tay, Irsyad Dawood, Isaac Lim and Kay Lynn Er:

The Three Ages by Jean Tay

A woman, Elizabeth, looks back at her life at three different points in time.

Kids' Gifts, COEs & Roast Duck by Irsyad Dawood

Two people get lost on their way to a friend’s kid’s birthday party.
