In this talk, Tan Waln Ching, publisher of City Book Room, delves into the world of literary publishing and gets candid about the lesser known challenges faced by local publishers. Discover publishing options and models, as well as considerations behind publishing a debut work.</p><p>Whether you’re an aspiring writer or a curious reader, this talk will equip you with a practical overview of the literary publishing scene.</p>

<h2>关于演讲者：</h2><p><br></p><p><strong><strong>陈婉菁</strong></strong>是2014年成立的城市书房的创办人。作为独立出版商，她坚信书能滋养人的心灵，是人类重要的精神粮食，因此她希望出版优秀的文学作品，如小说和诗歌，以及其他同历史和社会评论相关的书籍，以传达知识，拓展视野，推动文学的创作与发展</p><p><br></p><h2>About the Speaker:</h2><p><strong><strong>Tan Waln Ching</strong></strong> is the publisher of City Book Room, which was established in December 2014. Her firm belief that books nourish the human mind led her to publish works of fiction, poetry and history as well as social critiques that help to sustain literary development.</p>

<h2>Cancellation:</h2><p>The programme can be cancelled or postponed two weeks before the programme date if the minimum number of participants is not met. Participants will be fully refunded for workshops cancelled by us.</p><p>Participants who are unable to attend a workshop they have registered for are to inform us of the reason two weeks before the workshop date. They will be fully refunded in the event of extenuating and mitigating circumstances (E.g. illness, bereavement, accidents) . Those who inform us up to 5 working days before the workshop date will receive a 50% refund. Those who did not turn up at the workshop will not receive a refund.</p><p>Upon registration, you are deemed to have read and understood the cancellation and withdrawal policy and accept the terms contained therein.</p>
