Jazz Inc Presents: Gypsy Jazz Night with The Amanda Lee Swingtet

In June 2022, the iconic Singapore music venue Blu Jaz reopened its live music program with the Jazz Loft, located on the 3rd floor of it’s premises at Bali Lane.The mission of this new space, is to showcase jazz, and improvisation, as an evolving art form, rather than a museum-piece, presenting those artists, both local and international, that are part of the forward motion, and artistic development of the music.

Jazz Inc's social dance and listening party , Wednesday Night Hop features the Amanda Lee Swingtet presenting Gypsy Jazz!

We present a very special evening of a genre not often heard here - Gypsy Jazz! The evening's music is presented by some special guests with the Amanda Lee Swingtet. Known for their fun-loving camaraderie and playful dexterity, the band aims to spread the joy of jazz from its roots and beyond. Led by Singaporean pianist Amanda Lee, they are a regular on the local jazz scene and also perform internationally, including Ubud Village Jazz Festival, 1st International Jazz Festival Nha Trang and Taipei. Tonight's band features violinist David Loke, guitarist Joshua Francis and bassist Judy Tsai, as they perform tunes from the Django Reinhardt songbook and other classic jazz tunes, all under the musical leadership of jazz pianist and Jazz Inc's own senior instructor Amanda Lee. You don't have to be a dancer to enjoy the evening's musical offering. However if you do want to learn how to dance, there will be a Balboa taster class taught by Sinclair Ang of Jazz Inc at 8pm ($20 payable at the door, or you can email sinclair.ang@gmail.com to reserve a spot)!
