This September, we’re inviting you to slow down, create with your hands, and celebrate friendship in a meaningful way. In collaboration with Terra & Ember Pottery Studio, Screaming Pigeons is hosting a women-only handbuilding pottery workshop — a cozy afternoon of clay, creativity, and connection.
What to Expect
- Guided Pottery Session (2 hours):Bring a friend, and together you’ll create functional pieces like mugs or trinket trays. At the end, swap your creations as heartfelt gifts for one another — a simple way to honor friendship and walk away with something handmade to cherish. Instructor Alan will begin with a short demo (15 mins), then guide you through shaping your own piece. You’ll have plenty of time to explore forms, add handles, attach details, and bring your idea to life.
- Pieces You Can Make:Each participant will have enough clay for one item - a mug, bowl, or trinket dish (perfect for gifting and fun to paint later).
- Glazing & Painting:All pieces will be bisque-fired and given a transparent glaze finish. You’ll also receive a complimentary self-painting session at Terra & Ember the following week, if you’d like to add color: Choose between (1) Sat 20 Sept, 10am–12pm (2) Sun 21 Sept, 10am–12pm
- Connection Activities:Screaming Pigeons will host short icebreakers before, and a reflection circle after, so you leave not only with pottery — but with deeper conversations and memories.
- Optional Wine Add-On ($10):Make it a “clay & cabernet” afternoon with a glass of wine alongside your craft.
Notes
- No prior pottery experience is needed.
- We encourage you to come with a friend and an idea in mind (e.g. “a mug with a heart handle” or “a jewelry dish”), so our facilitators can support your vision.
