About this event

Dates: 2 Sept, 29 Sept

Time: 7:15 - 8:30pm

Venue: 99 Duxton Road (089543)

Amid a busy life, rest often takes a backseat — yet it's the very thing we need to restore, reset, and feel whole again.

“A Mindful Rest” are two-gently guided sessions designed for anyone seeking a pause to slow down, reconnect with their senses, and experience true relaxation.

In these restful evenings, we’ll explore:

Gentle mindful movements to release tension from the body

A mindful drinking or eating practice (e.g. tea or warm beverage/ snacks) to awaken the 5 senses

Guided meditation to be present and create spaciousness

Simple, practical tips to support better and deeper sleep

This is not about doing more — it's about being. Whether you’re winding down from a long day or seeking ways to enhance your sleep and self-care, these two evenings invite you to experience rest as a practice of presence.

Come as you are. No prior experience needed — just an open mind and a willingness to slow down.

About York; your facilitator

York, founder of Mindfulnests, was a lecturer at Ngee Ann Polytechnic for over 16 years, guiding young minds and growing alongside them. But over time, she felt called to a different path - a pull toward something deeper. She began to see how stress, overwhelm, grief and constant busyness were taking a toll on people of all ages, from caregivers and professionals to the elderly and youth, just as they had on her.

That’s when she decided to make a change. Today, she would like to create space—for calm, clarity, and compassion for anyone who needs it.

York’s healing journey began during a period of personal challenge - balancing a full-time job, part-time Master’s studies and caregiving for her late father, nearing burnout without realising it. The healing practices became a deeper commitment, especially after experiencing the grief of her father’s passing and the traumatic loss of a close colleague. These experiences solidified her belief in mindfulness as a powerful tool for healing, resilience and cultivating calm in her life.

In parallel, York’s journey into metaphysics began as a personal quest for clarity. Seeking answers to her own life’s struggles and challenges, she turned to the ancient Chinese arts of BaZi and Feng Shui, initially as tools for self-discovery. Over time, this curiosity evolved into a passion for helping others navigate their life paths. As she practiced these arts, York realised the profound impact they had on providing clarity, guidance, and hope for others. Her BaZi readings not only unveiled personal strengths and challenges but also offered a transformative way to align with one’s true purpose, particularly in career alignment, relationship synergy and energy balancing.

She now hopes to create inclusive and compassionate spaces for reflection and growth rooted in presence and insight.
