We are a team of dancers dedicated to swing dance. Our repertoire includes partnered and solo forms of Lindy Hop and Charleston, as well as authentic jazz (now called solo jazz globally) and tap dance. Swing dance and Lindy Hop for the Absolute Beginner. No dance experience needed other than a desire to dance and express oneself!Learn all the basics you need to get yourself dancing on the social dance floor in one series of 6 lessons with our experienced and friendly teachers.If you are a fan of swing music or early jazz music from the 30s and 40s, this is the dance for you. Swing dance is the umbrella term for all the dances done to swing music, of which Lindy Hop is the partnered dance of the 1930s and 40s, sometimes called the Jitterbug but we teach here the African American style hence we use the Lindy Hop (and Lindy Hopper) as opposed to Jitterbug.Whatever you need to get started to dance you will get from this class. what type of shoes, what type of clothes, where to get music and what type of music, basic steps, fun steps, jazz steps...BSL has the some of the best dancers and performers in SG so you can be assured you are in good hands. Our teachers are also continuously learning how to dance better and teach better and maintain a humble and professional attitude in class. They learn from you even while teaching you how best to get you to enjoy yourself, understand the music and just let go and dance!The traditional role for Leaders and Followers are Male and Female respectively but it is 2021 and we recommend that both genders learn whichever role they wish, or even both roles. This helps with class balance, allows everyone to have a chance to dance and understand the dynamics of partner dancing much earlier than other schools which stick with the traditional gender roles.Classes are 1h and 15min on Fridays at 8pm.Class needs a minimum of 4 to start.Payment 210sgd for 6 lessons.Please sign up early so that we can let you know if class can continue or not.Venue - The Studio@BugisLevel 7 Midland House112 Middle Road 188970(either white or green room)Once you sign up and make payment your spot is confirmed.All information will be found in the google forms sign up link!For enquiries please DM us here on FB or send an email to bswinglindy@gmail.com!~BSL Team
