WHAT?

This course aims to give a basic introduction to acrylic painting techniques, understand this medium, and how to achieve its optimal results. Participants will be guided through a learning process of acrylic painting on canvas boards. Upon completion, participants will be equipped with basic knowledge of painting with different themes.

Pictures shown are for illustration purpose, and can be different from projects during this course.

  • Understand the Acrylic medium, painting on canvas boards.
  • How to use different type of brushes to create different types of texture
  • Understanding the amount of water required to paint “wet style” painting
  • How to simplify and breakdown a painting
  • Understanding the layering in a painting

COURSE FEE:

$320.00 per person

$64.00 for seniors eligible for National Silver Academy (NSA) subsidy

National Silver Academy

  • NSA subsidy is for Singaporeans and Permanent Residents aged 50 and above.

SkillsFuture Credit

  • In addition to NSA subsidy, course fee may be offset by SkillsFuture Credit (SFC).
  • All tickets purchased with the intent to use SkillsFuture Credit to offset the course fee will be subject to a non-refundable $20 administrative fee.

EFFECTIVE 1ST JUNE 2025, ALL TICKETS PURCHASED WITH INTENT TO USE SKILLSFUTURE CREDIT WILL HAVE A NON-REFUNDABLE, $20 ADMINISTRATIVE FEE IMPOSED.

Step 1 (on Skillsfuture Website): Check your SkillsFuture credit balance.

Log into your SkillsFuture Portal to confirm you have sufficient SkillsFuture Credit balance (Take note: $4K SkillsFuture Career Transition Credits CANNOT be used for Brahm Centre courses).

Step 2 (on Eventbrite Website): Securing your ticket.

On Eventbrite, search for the course you are interested in.

Step 3 (on Eventbrite Website): Select correct ticket type & complete registration.

Select the intended Ticket Type (either NSA+SkillsFuture or SkillsFuture) and complete your registration. Upon successful registration, you will receive a confirmation e-mail containing information about the course.

Save/Screenshot the confirmation. (you will use this in the following steps)


Step 4 (on Skillsfuture Website): Submit your SkillsFuture claim.

Go back to the SkillsFuture Portal to submit a claim under 'E-Services'.

Please submit your SkillsFuture credit claim 60 days BEFORE the course commencement, for it to be valid. Deadline to submit SFC Claim is one week prior to course commencement.


Step 5 (on Skillsfuture Website):

If your SFC submission was completed successfully, the status of your submission would reflect as "PENDING".

Your registration is confirmed after your SkillsFuture claim status reflect as "APPROVED".

*Should you choose to cancel your SFC claim before the start date, Brahm Centre reserves the right to impose a penalty fee for course withdrawal.


Notes:

  • Course payments are non-refundable, non-transferable.
  • There are NO make-ups if you miss any of the art course sessions.
  • Missing a session does not disqualify you from taking part in the course - the trainer is not obligated to recap what was missed.
  • Brahm Centre reserves the right to replan the course should the trainer be unable to conduct the class due to unforeseen circumstances.
  • By purchasing a ticket you are consenting to the use of photos and/or videos taken during activities for records and promotional purposes.

Trainer Bio:

Steve Liu is trained as an Interior Designer, but the call to pursue his passion in Arts has never left him.

Following his passion to teach, he started his studio to guide adults after 7 years of arts teaching to children. From the experience, he believes that there is a place for arts in everyone, and it is something that he would encourage for people to discover.
