About this event
The Asian Festival of Children's Content (AFCC) 2020 celebrates the theme "Voyages" and welcomes participants to envision a world filled with possibilities even as we face many challenges and much uncertainty now. AFCC aims to traverse boundaries, redefine narratives and discover new truths, as it embarks on a digital journey of exploration to be immersed in a world of stories for children and young adults.
Featuring more than 40 local and international speakers, including well-known writers, illustrators, educators and key figures in the media and literary industry, speakers at the festival will share their experiences and contributions to children’s literature and its importance in times of adversity, and how the children’s publishing industry is responding to the worldwide pandemic.
The festival will touch on pertinent topics relating to the world’s changing landscape. From examining past and present responses by writers in times of crises; how books dealing with socially and culturally sensitive issues can be a source of support for children during challenging times, to exploring digital futures in a post-pandemic world.
Taking place online across two days from 3 - 4 October, AFCC 2020 aims to bring to you in-depth discussions on the present and future state of literature and stories for children and young adults in Asia.
Visit afcc.com.sg for more information and programme updates on the festival.
