After School Short Bursts
Maths, Science & History explored through hands-on building.
⚡ School subjects without feeling like school!
After School Short Bursts are focused, hands-on studio sessions where children explore Maths, Science, and History through building, testing, and making.
Instead of worksheets or drills, children learn by experimenting with materials, adjusting, and discovering how things work through action.
From understanding structures and forces, to exploring geometry and scale, to learning about places and design, each session turns school concepts into something they can see, touch, and figure out for themselves.
In these guided sessions, your child will:
- Build confidence in problem-solving
- Develop spatial and critical thinking
- Learn to approach challenges with curiosity and resilience

Science Mondays!
Each session explores a rotating design focus, such as building tall and stable structures, designing spaces for living beings, shaping paths and movement, working with patterns and repetition, understanding how curves hold weight, experimenting with light and shadow, or discovering how colour behaves in motion. Themes change weekly, but skills build consistently through hands-on making.
Math Tuesdays!
Each session introduces a new design focus - from exploring size and proportion to shaping spaces, transforming drawings into 3D forms, working with patterns and balance, and creating depth on a flat surface. Themes rotate weekly, while children develop strong spatial thinking through making and experimentation.
History Thursdays!
Learning themes rotate weekly and explore ideas such as structures with hidden purpose, nature-inspired forms, spaces of gathering and protection, identity and symbolism in design, and the role of order and symmetry in architecture. Through hands-on making, children discover how shape, space, and intention come together to create meaningful environments.
