An In-Depth Understanding Of Avalokitesvara (Guan Yin)
Overview
Guan Yin, the Bodhisattva of Great Compassion, is one of the most beloved figures in Mahayana Buddhism. Her full name, Avalokitesvara, means “Observing the sounds (or cries) of the world,” reflecting her boundless compassion and readiness to respond to those in need.
This 6-session course, taught by Ven. Faxun, will offer participants a clear and insightful exploration of Guan Yin’s role in Mahayana Buddhism. Focusing on the Universal Gate Chapter (普门品) of the Lotus Sutra, we will dive into key teachings and practical applications of Guan Yin’s compassionate qualities in our daily lives.
