Art Masterclass by Idris Ali

Based in Singapore, Maya Gallery is a leading and award-winning artist-run art gallery with a focus on heritage, culture, Singapore and Southeast Asian art. Pursuing an international programme of exhibitions and participation in art fairs, and collaborations with various organisations and galleries, the gallery facilitates the exchange of cultural dialogues and discourse. MASTERCLASS workshop by award-winning senior artist and master watercolourist on Sat 28 Jan 2023, 11am–1pm. Open to those with intermediate level in drawing and watercolour, and would like some useful tips, guidance and advice to create that masterpiece. A﻿BOUT THE ARTISTIdris Mohamed Ali (b.1944, Singapore) has brilliantly captured Singapore’s landscapes in watercolour for over 6 decades. He and exhibited at numerous group exhibitions, including three solo shows. His works can be found in the collections of the National Gallery Singapore, National Heritage Board, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and various government agencies in Singapore and Malaysia, private organisations and individuals. A member of Angkatan Pelukis Aneka Daya or APAD (Association of Artists of Various Resources) formed in 1962, he has taught many students under its Tunas (Budding) programme, and mentored art teachers.
