WHAT?

This immersive, nature-inspired course invites participants to explore the intersection of sustainability, creativity, and wellness through four hands-on botanical art workshops. Across engaging sessions, participants will design elegant miniature landscapes, craft stunning moss walls, paint on natural leaves, and learn the Japanese art of Kokedama.

Using eco-friendly materials such as preserved moss, driftwood, pebbles, and foliage, each activity fosters a deeper connection with nature while encouraging artistic expression and mindfulness. Participants will leave with unique, handcrafted pieces of sustainable décor that bring tranquility and beauty into their living spaces.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Apply sustainable practices in botanical and artistic design, using eco-friendly materials like preserved moss, natural twine, driftwood, and biodegradable elements across various creative projects.
  • Develop hands-on skills in nature-inspired art forms, including Kokedama, moss walls, painted leaf art, and open botanical landscapes, with a focus on aesthetic balance, design principles, and creativity.
  • Understand the cultural and ecological significance of natural materials, gaining insight into plant care, leaf textures, moss types, and the history and symbolism of botanical arts such as Kokedama.
  • Experience and reflect on the mental wellness benefits of mindful, nature-based creation, fostering a sense of calm, presence, and connection to nature through each artistic activity.
  • Create unique, handcrafted botanical artworks suitable for sustainable home décor or gifting, reinforcing eco-conscious living and artistic expression.

COURSE FEE:

$350.00 per person

$70 for seniors eligible for National Silver Academy (NSA) subsidy

National Silver Academy

  • NSA subsidy is for Singaporeans and Permanent Residents aged 50 and above.

SkillsFuture Credit

  • In addition to NSA subsidy, course fee may be offset by SkillsFuture Credit (SFC).
  • All tickets purchased with the intent to use SkillsFuture Credit to offset the course fee will be subject to a non-refundable $20 administrative fee.

Notes:

  • There are NO make-ups if you miss any of the art sessions.
  • Missing a session does not disqualify you from taking part in the course - the trainer is not obligated to recap what was missed.
  • Brahm Centre reserves the right to replan the course should the trainer be unable to conduct the class due to unforeseen circumstances.

Trainer Bio:

Margaret Huang has more than 12 years of expertise, spanning from floristry, landscaping to urban farming. She specialised in designing and delivering urban farming education and training programs, focusing on fostering rehabilitation through sustainable agriculture practices.

Log into your SkillsFuture Portal to confirm you have sufficient SkillsFuture Credit balance (Take note: $4K SkillsFuture Career Transition Credits CANNOT be used for Brahm Centre courses).

Step 2 (on Eventbrite Website): Securing your ticket.

On Eventbrite, search for the course you are interested in.

Step 3 (on Eventbrite Website): Select correct ticket type & complete registration.

Select the intended Ticket Type (either NSA+SkillsFuture or Individual+SkillsFuture) and complete your registration. Upon successful registration, you will receive a confirmation e-mail containing information about the course.

Save/Screenshot the confirmation. (you will use this in the following steps)

Step 4 (on Skillsfuture Website): Submit your SkillsFuture claim.

Go back to the SkillsFuture Portal to submit a claim under 'E-Services'.

Please submit your SkillsFuture credit claim 60 days BEFORE the course commencement, for it to be valid. Deadline to submit SFC Claim is one week prior to course commencement.

Step 5 (on Skillsfuture Website):

If your SFC submission was completed successfully, the status of your submission would reflect as "PENDING".

Your registration is confirmed after your SkillsFuture claim status reflect as "APPROVED".

*Should you choose to cancel your SFC claim before the start date, Brahm Centre reserves the right to impose a penalty fee for course withdrawal.
